JUNIOR LAND SURVEYOR South East
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB To carry out topographical surveys and occasional setting out for South East Region, either within a team or individually. To provide technical training to junior staff within the department. To liaise with other departments and external sources.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Surveys a) Objectives: To carry out data collection for the production of surveys in accordance with South East Region QA procedures. b) Typical Activities: Topographical Surveys, Check Surveys, Building Surveys, As Built Surveys, Volumetric Surveys, Use of computer aided design and survey software 2. Setting out a) Objectives: To set out in accordance with the South East QA procedures as and when requested. b) Typical Activities: Setting out of houses, roads, drainage, boundaries and control, with the inclusion of horizontal and vertical alignments where necessary· Liaising with internal departmenets and external sourcesTo provide setting out data for roads, drainage, houses, boundaries 3. Training a) Objectives: Continue to develop knowledge of technology and assist in the training of junior staff. b) Typical Activities: Attendance at conferences and seminars, Technical Literature, Supervision on use of survey equipment, including total stations, levels, Cat & Genny· Assist junior staff with computer aided design and survey software 4. Quality Control a) Objectives: To maintain an accurate and efficient service to the design and build departments within South East Region. b) Typical Activities: Drawing Checks, Calculation and Data Checks, Equipment Calibration*Maintenance.
